About The Miss Black Texas USA Pageants

The Organization

The Miss Black Texas USA Pageant is the official state pageant for the Miss Black USA Organization. Miss Black Texas USA is produced by Black All-American Pageant Systems, which was established in 1999 and is based in Houston, Texas. The founder of Black All-American Pageant Systems is former Miss Black Teen Texas 1993, Candace Thomas, who currently serves as the Texas State Director for the Miss Black USA Organization. The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit corporation in the state of Maryland, recognized under the 501(c) 3 code of the Internal Revenue Service. The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., was founded in 1986 by its current National Director, Karen Arrington. Vision

The Miss Black Texas USA Scholarship Pageant strives to become the largest single source of scholarship funds for African-American women in the state of Texas as it purposes to bring awareness to national health initiatives and school development projects.

Mission

It is the mission of Miss Black Texas USA to provide educational opportunities to outstanding young women of color and to develop the "whole woman mind, body, and spirit”. The Texas Organization seeks develop leaders through its Director’s Award Program which is designed to improve schools through campus community service efforts and fundraising initiatives.

Scholarship

Miss Black Texas USA Organization celebrates scholastic achievement in all disciplines and believes that education is the key to lifelong success. We guarantee that all state and local winners will receive educational scholarships toward their scholastic endeavors.

Community Service

Miss Black Texas USA is a community driven organization and is committed to addressing health and education. Currently, we have combined partnerships with the American Heart Association, the 50 Million Pound Challenge, and the Susan G. Komen annual “Race for the Cure”.
