Jacqueline Elliot, Miss Black Tarrant County USA Director

Jacqueline has many roles that include wife, mother, community volunteer, educator, mentor, and certified etiquette instructor. This native Texan received her Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Dallas Baptist University while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She is a certified Texas School Administrator and currently holds an elementary school administrator position. Besides being active in her community with her own personal mentoring and character education outreaches (Pre-Teen/Teen PEARLS Studio & Kings & Queens of Character), she is also an active registered "Big Sister" with Big Brothers and Big Sisters and volunteers on a regular basis with Junior Achievement, Queen For A Day, and Girls of Virtue. She is also a member of the Dallas Chapter of Black Women of Essence. Jacqueline has had many roles in the "world of pageantry" including contestant, titleholder, director, judge and coach.



Ormide Armstrong, Miss Black Austin USA Coordinator

Ormide Armstrong is a 1996 graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Since 1993, he has performed throughout the United States and Latin America with his band Bad Shoes. He has played with famous jazz musicians Dewey Redmond, Marvin Santiago, Clay Jenkins, and Eprhaim Owens. With an extensive and successful career as a band director, Ormide now serves as the first band director of John H. Reagan High School in Austin, TX. For his dedication to his students, community and music program, Ormide received Teacher of the Year at Reagan High School where he also serves as the Theater Sponsor. Mr. Armstrong is also currently the choir director at his church Our Lady of Guadalupe in Austin, TX.



Courtney Thomas, Miss Black Galveston County Coordinator

Courtney Teneille Thomas is a 2008 graduate of Sam Houston State University. She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with a minor is secondary education and social studies composite. She recently began her career as an educator at Space Center Intermediate School in Clear Creek isd. . She quickly assimilated into the program by volunteering as a cheerleader sponsor, member of the Teaching American History Grant and nurturing relationships with students, parents and colleagues. Courtney began volunteering for various programs and organizations during her middle school years and continued throughout her college years. For the past 4 years, it's been her pleasure to assist in the production of the Miss Black Texas/Teen USA pageants. She was inspired by the unselfish efforts of those who maintained an awareness and willingness to address the needs of young women. She hopes through her efforts to remain involved, she will inspire and motivate others to utilize their full potential.
