The Pageant
The Miss Black Texas USA Competition will be November 16, 2008, at the University of Houston. Young women between the ages of 18-27 will compete in the Miss Black Texas USA Competition. Teens between the ages of 14-17 will compete in the Miss Black Teen Texas USA Competition.
The Competition
The competition is divided into five categories: Preliminary Interview, Fitness, Evening Wear, Impromptu Speaking, and Talent. The judges are looking for the best contestant overall. She will probably not be the most outstanding in one category, but she will score highly in all categories. The scores are based upon personality, poise, intelligence, physical fitness, talent and inner beauty projected outwardly. Other areas of competition are: The Director’s Award, Miss Cover Girl, Miss Hospitality, Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, Talent Winner, Evening Gown Winner, and Fitness Winner.
