The Application Process

• STEP 1: Complete the Miss Black Texas USA Talented Teen Application
• STEP 2: Upload a recent photograph on our website.
• STEP 3: Pay a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee.
• STEP 4: Once the Miss Black Texas USA recruitment team receives your application, photograph and fee, you will receive an email that will contain your Official Miss Black Texas Talented Teen Contestant Packet. It will give you more information about the pageant and the Miss Black USA Organization. It will contain time sensitive material that will need to be returned to our Houston based office via standard mail. The information requires a parent’s signature, so please make sure that you receive their permission before submitting your application. We have limited space available and priority is given to early applicants. Apply Today!

Pageant Eligibility

The Eligibility Requirements

• You must be at least 13 years of age and not older than 18 years of age by the date of the national competition August 1, 2010.
• You must be enrolled in school.
• You must be single; not married.
• You must be a natural born female.
• You must be a United States citizen and live in the United States.
• You must be in excellent physical and mental health.

Pageant Judging Criteria

Talented Teen Criteria for Judging 2010

The competition is divided into five categories: Preliminary Interview, Personal Fitness, Talent, Evening Gown, and Question and Answer. The judges are looking for the best contestant overall.

Preliminary Competition for ALL CONTESTANTS

Personal Interview: 15%

Personal Fitness: 15%

• Stage Presentation
• Overall Appearance
• Body Condition
• Sportswear Selection

Talent: 35%

• Artistic Expression
• Technical Skill
• Stage Presence
• Professionalism
• Overall Performance

Evening Gown: 15%

• Style
• Poise
• Grace
• Professionalism
• Overall Presentation

Question and Answer: 20%

• Ability to think fast on feet
• Articulation
• Composure
• Overall Response

Final Competition for TOP 15
(The 15 highest scores will make up the top 15 finalists) – their slates will be cleared and they will re-compete in the following categories:

• Question & Answer – 35%
• Personal Fitness – 15%
• Evening Gown – 15%
• Talent – 35%

Announcement of the Top Five Finalists
The top 5 highest scores will make up the top five finalists (winner, 1st runner up, 2nd runner up, 3rd runner up, and 4th runner up)
